Situated in the historical district, the house where the Pension San Jose is located, was built in the late nineteenth century. Initially it was a cottage for agricultural tools.
In 1904 was an inn and subsequently became a pension with the advent of tourism in the 60s, it is the oldest establishment of Salobreña intended for tourist accommodation.
The most famous guest was the playwright José Martin Recuerda, who in 1960 wrote here much of his play “Cómo las secas cañas del camino".
The building has a special interest due to it was built in nineteenth century. It is a really picturesque building and very well preserved.
